this indenture made 5.9.1717 witnesseth that Jn Hatch junior and Ambrose Stowers churchwardens and Robt Harris and Jn May overseers with the consent of justices of the peace have put and placed Hen Wade a poor child of the said parish apprentice to Jn Norman of Tolsbury oyster dredger with him to dwell until the said apprentice reach the age of twenty four years (now aged 16yrs) during which time he will serve his master etc and Jn Norman covenants to instruct him the art of an oyster dredger and lodge and feed him and indemnify the parishioners from any charges and at the end of the term provide him with a double suit of apparel etc Jn Norman witnesses Jn Cooke Sam Burton justices of the peace Jo Bullock Rich Androwes
