the examination of Jas Edwards taken on oath this 29.9.1760 touching the place of his last legal settlement this examinant on his oath saith that he was born in Earls Colne and that about twelve years ago he was bound apprentice to Sam Gulston of Great Birch in the said county blacksmith for seven years and served the said time duly and truly but further saith that his said master resided in the parish of Great Birch by virtue of a certificate for the churchwardens and overseers of the poor of the parish of Boxstead and this examinant further saith that he has never done any other act since his birth whereby to gain a settlement elsewhere sworn before Rand Ekins Jas Edwards
