in the name of god amen the 22.8.1539 I Rich Wade of Earls Colne being whole in mind and good memory do ordain and make this my last will and testament in this form following first I bequeath my soul to almighty god and to our lady saint mary and to all the holy company of heaven and my body to be buried in the churchyard in Colne aforesaid item I bequeath to the high altar of the said church in recompense of my tithes by negligence forgotten or withholden 20d item I bequeath to Jn Sperman priest 20d item I will and bequeath to each of my daughters Margt and Margt 20s item I will that Isabel my wife shall have all the profits of my farm called Procknots over and besides all the charges thereof paid the space of two years next ensuing after my decease and after the said two years I will that Wm my eldest son to enjoy my whole lease therein and he to pay out thereof to the said Isabel my wife yearly during her life natural 13s4d and the said Wm at his entering to have 3a of wheat ready sown and 1a of barley with six horses and harness to them with my cart which horse to be these two grey a sorrel a bay the blind bay and the bay item I bequeath to the said Isabel my wife all my tenements and lands both free and copy for term of her life and after her decease my lands called Colt Land to remain to Wm my eldest son his heirs and assigns forever and my lands called Bowerfeilds to remain to Wm my youngest son his heirs and assigns forever and the said Wm the younger at the entering of his part of the said lands to pay to each of my said daughters 20s in four years yearly 10s next after the said entering and the 10s first to them bequeathed I will that they have it within the space of one year next after my decease and in likewise that all my debts to be paid within the said year and if the said Isabel my wife decease within the said year or that the said 40s or my debts to be paid that then I will that Wm my eldest son to pay them with such goods as she shall leave the residue of all my goods implements or household stuff as well cattle and corn as debts to me due as afore not bequeathed I will and bequeath them to the said Isabel my wife whom I do ordain and make mine executrix to see this my last will and testament to be performed and my debts to be paid and these I do ordain and make Jn Estey to be supervisor and he to have for his pains therein 3s4d in witness of this my last will and testament Thos Walter Cornelys German and Jn Estey
