in the name of god amen the 20.3.1545 I Jn Rashey alias Barbee of Earls Colne in the diocese of London being whole in mind and good memory do ordain and make this my last will and testament in this form following first I bequeath my soul unto almighty god and to my saviour and redeemer jesus christ to our lady saint mary and to all the holy company of heaven and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Colne aforesaid item I bequeath to the high altar of the said church for my tithes by me negligently forgotten or withholden 12d item I bequeath to Ann my daughter my featherbed and a bolster in my chamber above with two cushions there item I bequeath to the said Ann the covering now lying on me with my great round coffer and two pewter platters two pewter dishes and two saucers item I bequeath to the said Ann my best girdle harnessed with silver which was her mother's and a pair of hooks of silver and gilt item I bequeath to Jn my son my flockbed and a bolster in the little chamber with the tester over it and two coffers there standing item I will that my house garden and croft to be sold by my executors immediately after my decease to the most advantage and mr Brykenhed to have it before any other giving as much as another will and of the money that shall come of the sale thereof I will and bequeath to Jn my son aforesaid 3li and to Ann my daughter 6s8d the residue of all my goods above not bequeathed as well the residue of the money of the said sale as all implements and household stuff I give and bequeath them to Margt my wife whom I ordain and make mine executrix and Jn Wattsone her brother with her to mine other executor to see my debts to be paid and this my last will and testament to be performed and to see me honestly brought on earth and to dispose for the wealth of my soul as they shall think best to which Jn Wattsone I give and bequeath for his diligence and labour 3s4d witness of this my last will and testament Wm Swatooke Jn Ussherwood and Jn Estey with others
