in the name of god amen the 4.4.1570 I Jn Belcat of Earls Colne in the county of Essex and in the diocese of London being sick in body but of good remembrance thanks be given unto god do make my testament and last will in manner following first I bequeath my soul to almighty god the father the son and the holy ghost and my body to be buried in the churchyard of Earls Colne aforesaid and as for my goods simple as they be I give them to Agnes my wife to have and use them to her own use and if she leave anything at her departure out of this transitory life I will that Clem Sutton shall have it and I make my wife my sole executrix of this my testament and last will to pay my debts and take up such debts as are owing to me in whose hands soever they be and bring my body honestly to the ground these being witnesses Jn Petfeld clerk vicar there Hen Smythe Clem Sutton and others
