in the name of god amen the 6.3.1582 etc. I Ann Ashfield of Earls Colne in the county of Essex being sick in body but whole in mind and in good memory thanks be god make and ordain this my present testament containing therein my last will in manner and form that followeth first I commit my soul to almighty god and my body to be buried where it pleaseth the lord item I give and bequeath to the poor of Earls Colne 3s4d item I give and bequeath unto Dorothy Burndishe and Frances Erwin my two daughters and unto their heirs forever all my free houses and all my free lands unto them belonging one parcel of land called Brokehole being excepted which I give and bequeath unto Avis Ashfeild and her heirs forever item I give unto Margt Ashefild the daughter of Gyles Ashfeild one posted bedstead with a tester over it of satinabridge one featherbed one bolster of feathers and a pillow with a blanket and a coverlet and a mat and one casting sheet of holland item I give and bequeath unto Avis Ashfeild one cupboard and a cupboard cloth and one cushion with cullam lines item I give and bequeath unto my daughter Frances Erwin a trundle bed and one featherbed and one bolster and a blanket with a coverlet and one feather pillow and a mat and a straw bed belonging to it one red petticoat one black coffer one brass pot a counter table two forms a chair a buffet stool one cushion of dornick two wrought cushions two silver spoons a pair of curtains and all the old pewter five pieces of satining one little churn and two firkins a dripping pan an andiron a boulting tub and two other tubs a cheese press one spice mortar a little chaffer item I give unto my daughter Dorothy Burndishe one hat of velvet one great kettle item I give all my apparel linen and woollen sheets and all other apparel appertaining to my body to be equally divided between my daughter Dorothy Burndishe and my daughter Frances Erwin item I give to Bridget Burndishe one trundle bed one flockbed thereunto belonging one casting sheet of holland item I give unto my daughter Dorothy Burdishe a great kettle as is aforesaid item I give and bequeath unto Mary Erwin one bullock one great coffer with bars of iron one little chair with a green cushion belonging to it one whole a cloth reel one middle kettle one posnet one little table and a skillet item I give unto Ann Erwin one little skillet one little dish 6s8d item I give to Prudence Erwin one little kettle one spinning wheel item I give unto Frances Erwin comper# 5s item I give unto Mary Erwin one buffet stool item I give to Hen Harte the son of Briget Harte one salt of silver item I give and bequeath unto Joan Cooke (may be Joan Cooke) one pewter dish and one pair of sheets item I give all my goods unbequeathed to be divided between my daughter Dorothy Burndishe and my daughter Frances Erwin being my executors in witness whereof to this my present testament and last will I have set my hand and seal sealed and delivered in the presence of Robt Read Jn Wood and Francis Whiston clerk
