in the name of god amen the 20.1.1619 I Clem Conney of Earls Colne in the county of Essex husbandman being sick in body but yet in good and perfect remembrance I do thank god therefore do declare and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following first I bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty god my only saviour and redeemer by whose precious bloodshedding upon the cross I do steadfastly hope to have remission of all my sins my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be buried in the churchyard of Earls Colne aforesaid item I do give unto Hen Conney my son all that my copyhold tenement with the appurtenances called Coopes holden of the manor of Earls Colne except the house and the yard now in the occupation of Thos Pilgrim to have and to hold to the said Hen and to his heirs forever from and after the decease of Dorcas my now wife upon condition that the said Hen his heirs or assigns do pay or cause to be paid to Lucie Conney my daughter the sum of 5li of lawful money of England within two years next after the decease of the said Dorcas my wife and to Jn Conney my son the like sum of 5li within two years next after that the said Lucie Conney ought by this my last will and testament to receive the said sum of 5li at or in the south porch of the parish church of Earls Colne aforesaid that is to say 50s every year during the term of four years until the several sums of 5li be fully satisfied and paid to the said Lucie and Jn and if the said Hen his heirs or assigns shall make default of payment of the said several sums of 5li in manner and form aforesaid then I will that the said Lucie and Jn or such of them to whom default of payment shall be made of the several sums aforesaid shall enter upon the said tenement with the appurtenances and shall have and enjoy the same tenement with the appurtenances before by me given to the said Hen and his heirs until they shall be fully satisfied and paid the said several sums of 5li out of the issues and profits of the same item I do give unto Jas Conney my son the house and the yard now in the occupation of the said Thos Pilgrim to have and to hold to the said Jas and his heirs from and after the decease of the said Dorcas my wife upon condition that the said Jas his heirs or assigns do pay unto the said Lucie my daughter the sum of 26s8d of lawful money of England within two years next after the decease of the said Dorcas at or in the south porch of the parish church of Earls Colne abovesaid that is to say 13 s4d either of the said two years item I do give unto the said Dorcas my wife all my goods chattels and implements of household and I do ordain and make the said Dorcas my full and sole executrix of this my last will and testament to see my debts paid and my body decently buried and further my will is that if the said Hen my son shall disturb or interrupt the said Dorcas my wife for anything given unto her that then he shall be void of that gift of the said tenement before given to him and his heirs in witness whereof I have hereunto put my hand and seal in the presence of the persons hereunder written mark Clem Conney sealed subscribed and published in the presence of Simon Ive     Person (torn)
