in the name of god amen the 8.6.1619 I Robt Cobbe of Earls Colne in the county of Essex being sick in body but of sound and perfect memory thanks be to almighty god do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following imprimis I bequeath my soul into the hands of my creator hoping to be saved through the merit of jesus christ my saviour and my body to be buried in christian burial I give unto Edith my loving wife my freehold tenements lying in the parish of Earls Colne commonly called by the name of Drewes with all the tenements lands gardens orchards and other edifices throughout belonging to her and to her heirs forever item my will is that my daughter Anne Cobe shall have the one half of my goods and household stuff only within my house it being equally divided and my wife taking her choice of which half she will all the rest of my cattle corn hay or other movables or unmovables unbequeathed I give to Edith my wife to pay my debts discharge my legacies and to see my body buried in christian burial whom I do ordain sole executrix of this my last will and Robt Cobbe in the presence of Sam Withers mark Rich Carter
