in the name of god amen I Jn Pennifather of Earls Colne in the county of Essex ploughwright being sick in body but of perfect mind and remembrance I do give god thanks therefore and do make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following being this 28.10.1623 viz first I commit and bequeath my soul into the hands of almighty god the father the son and the holy ghost by whose precious death and passion upon the cross I do steadfastly believe and hope to have the remission of all my sins and my body to be buried in the churchyard of the aforesaid Earls Colne decently according to my degree item I do give and bequeath unto Marge my wife to Thos Pennifather and Jn Pennifather my two sons all my goods chattels and implements of household stuff money bonds debts dues duties and demands whatsoever which are due unto me to be paid from any manner of person or persons whatsoever to be equally divided between them and I do make and appoint Marge my wife and Thos Pennifather my son executors of this my last will and testament and they shall pay all the charges of my burial and my debts in witness whereof I the said Jn Pennifather have hereunto put my hand and seal the day and year first above written read sealed subscribed and delivered in the presence of us Wm Adams clerk Wm Adams jun Jn Pennifather
