in the name of god amen the 18.11.1625 etc. I Edm Turner minister of the parish of Chapple alias Pontisbright being sick in body but of perfect memory by the mercy of god do ordain and make this my last will and testament in manner and form following imprimis I give to Edm Turner my son and customary lands called Mattrix# lying in the parish of Alphonstone and holden of the manor of Podmarshe to him and his heirs forever item I give my customary tenement called Perries situate upon Colnford Hill and holden of the Priory of Earls Colne after the decease of Alice my wife to my two daughters Margt and Joan and to their heirs to be equally divided between them item I give to Margt my daughter 5li to be paid within six months after my decease item I give to Joan my daughter 5li to be paid within six months after my decease (torn) item I give to Joyce Barret my daughter 13li6s8d to be paid within six months after my decease and if my daughter Joyce shall die before the six months shall be expired then my will is that her legacy of 13li6s8d shall be equally divided between those children that she shall leave behind her item I give to Joyce one posted bedstead standing in the little chamber item I give her one framed table standing at my house in Podmarshe with two joined forms and six joined stools item I give her one cupboard two joined chairs the greatest and the least these standing in the hall item I give her one turned dutch chest standing in the sollar over the parlour item I give unto her one trunk chest banded with iron one other black chest both standing in the same sollar item one joined box of the middle sort item two flockbeds one feather bolster one flock bolster one coverlet lying one of the trundlebeds in the parlour one pair of blankets one of the best sort one of the next item three pillowberes six tablenapkins three of the best sort three of the next item six pieces of pewter those of the middle sort item three saucers and three porringers of the middle sort one of the best double saltcellars item one brass pot of the middle sort one brass posnet one latten candlestick all those legacies I give to my daughter Joyce Barret item I give to my three daughters Joyce Margt and Joan either of them a silver spoon item I give unto Joyce my cushions two bild cushions two of the next sort item to Joyce two pillows of the middle sort item to her three pairs of sheets one pair of the better sort two pairs of the next item I give to Margt my daughter one cow item to Joan my daughter one cow item I give to Edm my son one silver bowl item I give to Edm my linen cupboard in the parlour item I give him all my books item I give to Edm my son the bedstead and bedding with all the furniture thereto belonging whereon he now lieth item all my provision for my house of all sorts of grain butter cheese and my hogs shall remain to my wife my two daughters Margt and Joan with Edm my son for their maintenance in common till it shall please god to provide better for them all the rest of my household stuff unbequeathed with in my house excepting my ready money which I leave and give to my executor I give to my daughters Margt and Joan but with condition that Alice my wife shall have the use of so much as she needeth during her natural life item I give to my sister Marge Wanton 10s item I give to Wm my son if he be alive 40s all the rest of my goods chattels movables immovables unbequeathed I give to my son Edm to pay my debts and legacies and to bring my body to christian burial in witness whereof I have set my hand and seal my son Edm sole executor of this my last will and testament and have to these presents the day and year first above written in the presence of Sam Wither mark Jn Sydaye by me Edm Turner
