in the name of god amen the 2.4.1650 I Thos Christmas sen of Earls Colne in the county of Essex miller being weak in body but in good and perfect mind and remembrance I give god thanks therefore I do make ordain and declare this my last will and testament in manner and form following and I do hereby utterly renounce and revoke all former will or wills by me heretofore made whatsoever first and principally I commit and commend my soul into the merciful hands of almighty god the father my creator and his forever blessed son jesus christ my only redeemer and to the holy ghost my only comforter and preserver and my body to the earth from whence it was taken to be decently buried in christian sepulchre according to my degree and for that part and portion of worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased god out of his free favour and love to endue me withal imprimis I give and bequeath unto Ann my beloved wife all those my copyhold lands holden of the manor of Barwick Hall in White Colne called or known by the several names of Manings Pippins Croft Colemans and Cookes Crofte or whatsoever other name or names the same or any part or parcel thereof now are or at any time heretofore hath been called containing in all together by estimation 5a be they more or less with all and singular every of the appurtenances thereunto belonging whatsoever for and during the full term of her natural life and after her decease item I give and bequeath unto Jas Ayleing my son in law of Pebmarsh in the said county yeoman and to Jn Ayleing his brother of the same town and county yeoman their heirs or assigns all that my freehold messuage or tenement wherein Steph Warner now dwelleth with all and singular every the houses edifices buildings barns stables outhouses yards gardens orchards and one parcel of land called Pippins or by whatsoever other name or names the same or any part thereof now is or at any time heretofore hath been called with all and every of the ways easements water courses and appurtenances thereunto belonging as they are all situate lying and being in Earls Colne White Colne or in one of them and all those my before above recited parcels of copyhold lands with the appurtenances holden of the manor of Barwickhall in White Colne called Mannings Pippins Crofte Colemans and Cookes Crofte or otherwise and all those my two other crofts or parcels of copyhold land with the appurtenances containing by estimation 3a be it more or less called Millfeild holden of the manor or Colne Priory to be sold and conveyed by them or either of them their heirs executors administrators or assigns to any person or persons whatsoever to the best advantage within one whole year next ensuing after the death of Ann my said wife and the monies that my said messuages houses lands or tenements with their and every of their appurtenances shall be sold for I will that it shall be equally divided between every one of my sons and daughters part and part like that shall be then living and further I will and my true intent and meaning is that all my before above recited freehold messuage or tenement with all and singular every of the appurtenances thereunto belonging whatsoever and all my before above recited mentioned parcels of copyhold lands and every part and parcel thereof with the appurtenances whatsoever or by what name soever I will shall be and remain to such person and persons as the said Jas Ayleinge and Jn Aylinge their heirs or assigns shall sell and convey the same unto and to their heirs and assigns forever and to none other person or persons whatsoever all the rest of my goods chattels and cattle implements of household stuff whatsoever or wheresoever unbequeathed my debts being paid and my body decently buried I do give and bequeath unto the said Ann my wife whom I do make and ordain to be my only sole executrix to this my last will and testament and I do make and ordain the above named Jas Aylinge and Jn Aylinge to be supervisors of this my will to see the same well and truly performed fulfilled and kept in every thing according to my true intent and meaning as it is before herein above mentioned and expressed in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day month and year above written sealed acknowledged published and declared as his last will and testament in the presence of us mark Margt Newton Wm Adams writer mark Thos Chrismas
