(first and last part taken from transcript) the 15.2.1659 I Geo Clarke of Earls Colne oatmealmaker make my testament in manner and form following and I do hereby utterly renounce and revoke all and every other will and wills by me heretofore made whatsoever and for that part or portion of worldly goods wherewith it hath pleased god out of his free favour and love to endue me withal here in this transitory life I do give and bequeath as followeth first I give and bequeath unto Eliz Clarke my eldest daughter and to the heir or heirs of her body lawfully begotten or to be begotten forever all that my parcel of freehold land in the parish of White Colne called Ash Croft containing by estimation 7a be it more or less and if it shall happen that the said Eliz my daughter shall die without is sue of her body lawfully begotten as is aforesaid then I give and bequeath the said parcel of land with the appurtenances called Ashcroft unto Sarah Clarke my youngest daughter and to her heirs forever in like manner also I give and bequeath unto the said Sarah Clarke my youngest daughter and to the heir or heirs of her body lawfully begotten or to be begotten forever all that my parcel of freehold land with the appurtenances being parcel of the manor of Offingtons in the parish of White Colne aforesaid containing by estimation 3a be it more or less and if it shall happen that the said Sarah my daughter shall die without issue of her body lawfully begotten as is aforesaid then I do give and bequeath the said parcel of land with the appurtenances called Offingtons unto the said Eliz Clarke my eldest daughter and to her heirs forever which said parcel of land was sometime the land of Jeff Hammont of White Colne aforesaid blacksmith and I will and my true intent and meaning is that Clem my wife shall receive and take all the rents and profits of all those my two parcels of land called Ashcroft and Offingtons until such time as the said Eliz and Sarah my two daughters shall attain to their several age or ages of 21yr towards the education maintenance and bringing up of my said two daughters in like manner also I give and bequeath unto the said Clem my well beloved wife all this my freehold messuage or tenement in Earls Colne aforesaid called Drewes wherein I now dwell with all and singular every of the houses edifices buildings barns stables outhouses yards orchards gardens and appurtenances whatsoever thereunto belonging or appertaining or therewith now being occupied enjoyed as part parcel or member thereof to have and to hold the said messuage or tenement houses buildings yards orchard gardens and appurtenances whatsoever unto the said Clemence my wife and to her heirs and assigns forever upon their conditions and under the trust hereafter mentioned that is to say upon condition and trust that she the said Clem my wife her heirs executors administrators or assigns shall pay unto Hen Abbott of Earls Colne aforesaid saymaker the full sum of 70li4s of good and lawful money of England all and upon the 6.1.1660 in or at his now dwelling house in Earls Colne upon a condition of a surrender of my copyhold land called Mill Feilds in White Colne holden of the manor of Colne Priory in like manner also I give and bequeath unto the said Clem my wife all the rest of my freehold messuages or tenements and lands in White Colne unbequeathed for and during the full term of her natural life for and towards the better education maintenance and bringing up of Geo Clarke Eliz Clarke and Sarah Clarke my son and two daughters and after her death I do give and bequeath the same unto the said Geo Clarke my son and to his heirs and assigns forever in like manner also I give and bequeath unto the said Clem my wife all my two parcels of copyhold land (rest from transcript) holden of the manor of Colne Priorie called Millfield for life to Geo Clarke my son the above on my wife's death and to his heirs all the rest to my wife Clem my sole executrix witnesses Hen Abbott J Garred Wm Adams scrivener
