in the name of god amen I Dan Androwes of Earls Colne in the county of Essex gent and citizen of London being of a disposing mind for which I praise god do this 17.1.1682 etc. make and ordain this my last will and testament in manner and form following first I give to my son Rich the sum of 50li of lawful english money to be paid to him at the years of 21yr item after my debts and legacies herein mentioned are paid by my executrix herein named and appointed and after my dearly beloved wife hath her third part of my personal estate set out to her proper use according to a covenant made by me to her before marriage and in consideration thereof then I do give and bequeath to my four daughters Ann Mary Dorothy and Frances my funeral expenses being paid all the residue of my personal estate to be equally divided betwixt my said four daughters a fourth part of the said personal estate in four equal parts being divided to be paid to each and every of my said daughters at their respective years of 21yr or days of marriage which shall first happen by my executrix herein named and if it shall happen that one or more of my said daughters before named shall happen to die before she or they attain to the years of 21yr respectively or die unmarried before those years then my will and meaning is that the part or parts of her or those so dying shall be paid to the survivors or survivor of my said daughters item I give to my dear wife Mary Androwes and to her heirs and assigns forever all that my messuage and tenement with all the stables coachhouse yard and all other appurtenances thereunto whatsoever belonging situate lying and being in St Stephens Walbrooke wherein now Alvaro de Costa dwelleth or else in the occupation of him or his assigns together with the gateway or passage into the same from Bridgerow in trust nevertheless and confidence that my said wife shall perform the conditions and provisos in a certain deed between me the said Dan Androwes and my brother Wm Androwes gent made or appointed to be made and in case I should depart this life before I shall have signed the said deed yet my wife shall perform the said conditions and provisos therein and in further trust and confidence that my said wife or her heirs and assigns shall pay unto each of my said daughters above named the sum of 200li of lawful money at their respective years of 21yr or days of marriage which shall first happen and if one or more of my said daughters should die before she or they have received the said respective sum or sums of money then my will and meaning is that their part or parts shall be equally divided among the survivors or go to the survivor of my said daughters item I give to my brother Wm Androwes gent 10li for mourning and to my sister Dorothy the wife of mr Jn Dervile 10li for mourning and of this my last will and testament I do make and ordain my dearly beloved wife Mary sole executrix relying assuredly on her for the faithful performance thereof in all particulars according to my true intent and meaning in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal the day and year first above written Dan Androwes signed sealed published and declared by the testator for his last will and testament in our presence and we at his desire signed it in his presence Ralph Josselin Jn Wallace Jn Wenden Eliz Goodman
