of Earls Colne in the county of Essex fellmonger being weak and infirm in body but of sound and perfect mind and understanding thanks be to god do make this my last will and testament in manner following hereby revoking all former wills by me made first and principally I commend my soul into the hands of almighty god my most merciful creator hoping to be saved through the alone merits of jesus christ my most gracious redeemer and my body I desire may be decently buried at the discretion of my executrixes hereinafter named and as to that worldly estate wherewith it hath pleased god to bless me I dispose thereof as followeth imprimis I give and bequeath unto

my loving wife and to her heirs or assigns forever all that my customary messuage or tenement with the lands thereunto belonging situate lying and being in Ridgwell in the said county of Essex now in the occupation of

and holden of the manor or Ridgwell which I have surrendered to the use of my will provided always and my will and meaning is that my said wife

her heirs or assigns shall and do within the space of one year and a day next after my decease well and truly pay or cause to be paid unto my eldest son

if he shall then be living and shall come in person to demand the same the sum of 50s of lawful british money and to my daughter

the sum of 20s of like british money to be paid to her my said daughter by my executrixes herein after named within two years next after my decease in case she shall come in her proper person to demand the same item I give and bequeath to my son

1s and one suit of my wearing apparel of woollen item I give and bequeath unto my daughter

the sum of 20li of lawful british money and further in consideration it hath pleased god to deprive her of the natural faculty of sight I give and bequeath all the rest and residue of my goods chattels and personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever unto my said loving wife
