in the name of god amen I Jn Unwin of the parish of Earls Colne in the county of Essex maltster being in good health and in sound and perfect mind and memory thanks be to god for it therefore do make this my last will and testament in manner and form following first I give my soul into the hands of almighty god who gave it hoping though the mediation of Jesus Christ my saviour to have free pardon of all my sins and my body I give to the earth to be decently buried by my executor or executrix hereinafter mentioned item I give and bequeath to my son Hen Unwin 5li of good and lawful money of England to be paid him within one year after my decease by my executor or executrix herein after mentioned and also do forgive him all that shall appear due from him to me at my decease item I give and bequeath to my son Hen Unwin all my wearing apparel and my watch except my best suit of clothes viz my best coat and waistcoat and breeches which I shall give to my son Jn Unwin item I give and bequeath to my son Jn Unwin 20li of good and lawful money of England to be paid him within one year after my decease by my executor or executrix hereinafter mentioned and also do forgive him all that shall appear due from him to me at the time of making my will item I give and bequeath to my son Jn Unwin my best coat waistcoat and breeches the same that I have excepted out of the wearing apparel I gave to my son Hen Unwin item I give to my daughter Isabel Johnson 20li of good and lawful money of England to be paid her by my executor or executrix hereinafter mentioned within one year after my decease item I give and bequeath to my grandson Jn Unwin son of my son Hen Unwin 15li of good and lawful money of England towards the binding him an apprentice to some handy craft trade and finding him clothes to be paid him at the discretion of my executor or executrix hereinafter mentioned and all the rest and residue of my goods chattels bills bonds book debts and all other my personal estate whatsoever and wheresoever I give and bequeath to my loving wife Sarah Unwin she paying my debts and funeral charges and my will is that all this my personal estate I have given to my beloved wife should at her decease be equally divided between my three children Hen Unwin Jn Unwin and Isabel Johnson or the survivor or survivors of them lawfully begotten and lastly I do nominate constitute and appoint the aforesaid Sarah Unwin my loving wife to be my sole executrix of this my last will and testament contained in one sheet of paper revoking all other wills heretofore made by me declaring this to be my last will in witness whereof I the said Jn Unwin the testator to this my last will and testament have set my hand and seal this 25.5.1761 Jn Unwin signed sealed published and declared by the above Jn Unwin the testator in the presence of us Mary White Thos Fisher Jn Bullard (may be Jn Bullard)
