in the name of god amen I Frances Humfrey of Earls Colne in the county of Essex being through the abundant mercy and goodness of god though weak in body yet of a sound and perfect understanding and memory do constitute this my last will and testament and desire it may be received by all as such imprimis I give and bequeath to my son and daughter Chas and Frances Humfreys all my estate called Claverens lying and being in the parish of Halsted in the county aforesaid and my will and meaning is that the said estate shall be equally divided between my son and daughter aforesaid and that they shall have share and share alike I give to my daughter Frances Humfrey and her heirs all my estate at Earls Colne with all the table linen childbed linen and all the furniture wearing apparel and all monies moveables of all sorts and kind whatsoever except the plate which I do desire in this my last will the said plate may be equally divided between my son and daughter aforesaid and to have share and share alike I do also give to my daughter Frances Humfreys and her heirs half the thirds of my estate at Halsted in the county aforesaid but in case my son should at his decease have no heirs and my daughter aforesaid should at that time be living my will and meaning is that all and every my messuages lands tenements estates whatsoever and wheresoever shall be for the use of my daughter and her heirs and in case my daughter should at her decease leave no heirs and my son Chas Humfreys should then be living my desire is that all and every the said messuages lands tenements and estates whatsoever and wheresoever shall be for the use of my said son and his heirs and in case my son and daughter should either of them leave no heirs at their decease my will and meaning is that all my messuages lands tenements and estates shall be for the use of Geo Daniel's eldest daughter and her heirs I give to my godson Hen Andrews the sum of 5li of good and lawful money of Great Britain to be paid within twelve months next after my decease I do also appoint Wm Beauchamp of Earls Colne to be my sole executor of this my last will and testament and my will and meaning is that my son and daughter shall make my executor satisfaction for all his trouble and all charges that the said executor shall be at in executing this my last will and testament I do desire that my son and daughter aforesaid will pay share and share alike of the said charges and my desire is to be privately interred upon the corpse of my late dear husband and my further desire that the same persons which carried my dear husband to his grave if then living at the time of my decease should carry me in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 29.6.1768 Frances Humfrey signed sealed published and declared by the said Frances Humfrey as her last will and testament in the presence of us witnesses Dan Simson Mary White
