this is the last will and testament of me Jn Shepherd of Earls Colne in the county of Essex gentleman I give and devise unto Isaac Joslin (sic) of Earls Colne aforesaid schoolmaster all that my messuage or tenement with the yards gardens and appurtenances situate in Earls Colne aforesaid now in my own occupation and copyhold of the manor of Earls Colne to hold unto the said Isaac Joslin (Watson) his heirs and assigns absolutely and for ever I give and bequeath the following legacies to be paid at the end of three months next after my decease to my niece Sarah Holloway 2gns to my niece Ann Johnson widow 2gns to my niece Susanna Aston widow 2gns to Susanna Selina Watson the daughter of the said Isaac Joslin Watson £10 to Eliz Smith of Earls Colne aforesaid widow £5 to Susanna Shepherd of the same place widow £5 all the rest residue and remainder of my estate and effects real and personal whatsoever and wheresoever (subject to the payment of my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses and the several legacies aforesaid) I give devise and bequeath unto the said Isaac Joslin Watson his heirs executors administrators and assigns absolutely and forever and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint him sole executor of this my will in witness whereof I the said testator have to this my last will and testament set my hand and seal this 11.3.1822 mark Jn Shepherd and seal signed sealed published and declared by the said testator Jn Shepherd as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence and at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses Thos Probert solicitor Saffron Walden Wm Taylor Earls Colne Wm Ruffle Earls Colne
