in the name of god amen I Wm Scott of the parish of Earls Colne in the county of Essex gentleman being in sound mind memory and understanding though weak in body do make and publish this my last will and testament in manner and form following that is to say first I give and bequeath all my household furniture plate linen china glass and implements of household furniture to my two daughters Keziah Scott and Anna Scott share and share alike to them their heirs and assigns absolutely and for ever I give and bequeath to my son Wm the sum of £10 to my granddaughter Hannah Sarah Girling Burls the sum of £40 to my grandson Jn Burls the sum of £40 to be paid to them twelve months next after my decease to and for their own use absolutely and for ever also my will and desire further is that all that my copyhold and customary messuage and tenement called Nounans otherwise Aspins together with the barns stables yards gardens orchards lands meadows pastures hereditaments and appurtenances whatsoever thereto belonging situate lying and being in the parish of Wakes Colne in the said county of Essex and now in the occupation of Jn Constable as the same premises are held of the manor of Colne Wake and Colne Engaine otherwise Little Colne and which I have surrendered to the use of my will shall be sold as soon as conveniently may be after my decease either by public auction or private contract whichever way to my executors hereinafter named shall seem most profitable and I do hereby authorise order empower and direct my executors hereinafter named to sell and dispose of the same as soon as conveniently may be after my decease for the best price or prices that can be had for the same and the money arising from the sale or sales thereof after deducting the necessary expenses attending such sale or sales together with all my money securities for money and also together with all the residue of my estate and effects of whatsoever nature kind or quality the same may be and not herein before disposed of after payment of my just debts funeral expenses and probate of this my last will and testament I give and bequeath one fifth share thereof to my son Hen Scott one fifth share thereof to my daughter Sarah Bourne one fifth share to my daughter Anna Scott and one fifth share thereof to my daughter Keziah Scott to them their heirs and assigns for ever the remaining fifth share I give and bequeath to my grandchildren Jn Pilgrim Jeff Pilgrim Wm Pilgrim Barnard Pilgrim and Kesiah Pilgrim sons and daughter of my daughter Eliz Pilgrim share and share alike to be paid to them my said grandchildren as they shall respectively attain the age of twenty years to and for their own use absolutely and for ever and my will further is that my executors hereinafter named shall if they please use the said one fifth part of my estate as aforesaid or any part remaining unpaid to my said grandchildren by paying interest for the same at the rate of £3 percent per annum which interest shall be paid to my said grandchildren for and towards their maintenance and education until they respectively attain the age of twenty-one years and my will and desire further is that the purchaser or purchasers of my said copyhold estate as aforesaid shall not be accountable for the nonapplication or misapplication of the purchase money and that the receipt of my executors hereinafter named shall be a full and sufficient dischaarge to the purchaser of purchasers for the purchase money thereof and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint my son Jeff Scott of the parish of Bromley in the county of Essex and my son Hen Scott of the parish of White Colne in the said county of Essex executors of this my last will and testament and hereby revoking all former will or wills by me at any time heretofore made do declare this to be my last will in witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 28.12.1832 mark Wm Scott signed sealed published and declared by the said testator Wm Scott as and for his last will and testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses Isaac Joslin Watson Dan Smith Ann Chaplin all of Earls Colne
