Tobias Haiward (should be Tabitha Haiward ) holdeth by copy of court roll of the said manor one croft of land called Popes Hatche lying between the demesne of the said manor called The Tenn Acre Field towards the north west and the queens highway leading from Earls Colne towards Colchester on the part of the south east the one head thereof abutteth upon a croft or pightle of the manor of Sheriffes called Scriveners towards the north east and the other head upon the river there towards the south west and containeth 3r10p and renteth yearly for the same (2609a)
