As I went down the hill, I discussed effigies with Guoselie Angami, the dobashi of Chichema. It appears that he himself is also qualified for an effigy and after his death his son will cut and carve a tree, and give a feast at family expense. The village youth will then all go in ceremonial dress and the figure will be set up by a village path. Guoselie had only four heads to his credit before the Japanese war but he took heads from three Japs and thus brought his total up to seven. The first four heads he got on expeditions with Hutton and Mills. |

In Chichema also there are no house horns but a great many houses have frontal panels carved with mithan horns. |
