text: Wokha - Ao Doctor - Dr. L. Lungkumar.
text: Christianity - everywhere a reversion to former custom - though with a slight difference.
text: Aos - wear old ornament and dress - feast of merit - Dec. Xmas or New Year - in 1945 a great feast in Mokokchung with dancing and singing - dancing is reviving - hostels everywhere but without carving - Everything is different and everything is the same. Re drink - the official attitude is to ban rohi - but in many practice many Christians do drink - the ban however is a powerful obstacle to new conversions.
text: Re rum - no objection in practice - possibly because when administered by an official, it is less a drink than a sacrament! Smoking frowned on by the mission - but here also fairly common among Christians.
text: Christianity triumphed among Aos and Semas - Angamis, Rengmas, Lhotas, had some small initial success, but since then very few. In fact the tribal cultures seem to have possessed a much greater toughness than anyone thought possible - Mills' forbodings not fulfilled.
