text: My dear Bill,
text: ...I am entirely bewildered by the announcement in the Statesman that the Nagas propose to declare their independence. Surely only the Angamis want it. The Rengmas, I'm told, are already putting up defences against possible Angami raids - they are old enemies. Nlomo of Okotso, in G.S's office, is convinced that the Lhotas will be raided too.
text: Far from writing to the Assam Tribune I haven't even seen the letter! I must try to get hold of a copy.
