text: Mr Castles is a very nice, cheerful man, approximately middle-aged, who is probably not of refined origin but nevertheless has utterly pleasant manners. On his excellent electric phonograph he played jazz, Paul Robeson and the 'Unfinished Symphony' for us. His fridgidaire makes it possible to serve ice-cold drinks and after the hot journey we tremendously enjoyed several glasses of beer. Supper was very good and the entire evening was very enjoyable
