text: Towards evening I go through the village with Dr Veiyera. Only now have I realised that the carvings in none of the morungs show mithan or buffalo but only wild animals. Dzem-ang also tells me that only the Balang, Bala and Ang morung may paint their posts and carvings with red paint, not however the Au-kheang and The-phong. In addition The-phong is not allowed to carve human figures.
