Today we went to the village of Yimpang. I have to elaborate a bit to explain its role in the recent events. When Pangsha attacked Saochu and Kejok in the spring and killed everyone except for a few people who got away and then burnt down the villages. Yimpang too, apart from some Chingmei youth (see p. 215), participated in this heroic deed and as a small village it got some of the Saochu heads and one slave. From Yimpang's side this raid was especially treacherous as they had always lived in peace and friendship with Saochu. |
