text: In the morning when I stepped onto the verandah of the bungalow in Tamlu I found myself among my Wakching friends who had sat themselves down here chewing betel and waiting for me to wake up. They had been travelling all night to reach me in time and bring home the head in triumph. All morungs had sent envoys apart from the Balang who had already come yesterday, but unfortunately the Aukheang youth made themselves so little noticeable that they went empty during the division of the head which had serious repercussions although still on the same evening I gave a piece to the Aukheang gaonbura. Shankok had come and Dzeam-ang from the Bala morung and many others who I knew by sight.
