text: After two hours of walking, Chingai suggested a rest and something to eat. He knew of a spring near the path and the water which his companion, Monda, brought me in a quickly cut bamboo was clear and cool. Here one always finds the best water somewhere in the woods, never near a village. Nlamo, Chingai, Monda and Yongem started to unpack rice and vegetables and to boil tea in chungas. I too ate my sandwiches. Monda carefully washed his hands both before and after his meal and finally he used some left-over tea for this. Chingai pushed the luxury even further and even washed his feet with tea.
