text: An Ao who marries a Konyak girl pays the bride-price according to Konyak custom, that is usually several layas. But if a Konyak marries an Ao woman he only pays her parents a dao as is the custom among the Ao. There are only two clans in the Konyak khel, Noklang and Meko. Both come from Tamlu and are exogamous. The also exogamous four Ao clans come from Kanching Toluba. Anaki was only founded by the fathers of the present generation.
