text: I had a long conversation with the Konyak gaonbura about concepts of the afterworld and about Akongdedangba who is the proper guardian of the land of the dead. He asks the dead who their parents were and receives their gifts. The dead give him a chunga of madhu which is cut so that he cannot drink comfortably from either side. While Akongdedangba is thinking about how to drink the rice beer the dead person slips through and goes to Yimbi. People who have died a bad death he sends on a different path into the village for just such people.
