text: Near the village Namsang (197) the path is cut several metres deep into the soft sandstone. Niampong says that this only comes from long usage. This seems plausible as there would have been no advantage to cutting the trail artificially into the stone. Nevertheless, people must have walked here for centuries or possibly millenia to have cut the path so deeply into the ground with bare feet.
