In the morning we let go the prisoner who had only carried a head - he was an insignificant person and probably only did as he was told. We left 25 rifles, including signallers, at Tangsa, watching the Yungya path and marched to Kamahu. Urangkong met us here with coolies and supplies, as well as Mongyu. Kamahu had made great preparation and got ready a camp, but the water here is filthy. Urangkong are sitting on the hedge between Phomching and Yacham thoroughly afraid of both but glad enough to kick up a little mud and try a few typical Phom dirty tricks in aid of either side against the other. |
