text: Loaded the kit into the boats and walked down the river. Owing to the shallows the boats got repeatedly stuck, and one was overturned in a rapid and all the contents properly soaked. These were spread on the stones to dry a little and we walked on. Eventually we could get no further along the bank, but found an old bamboo raft in which Mr. Pawsey and I poled and paddled down to the landing place at Barpatra T.E. Before arriving there, very wet, I fell through the bottom of the raft. We reached Borhat very late. About 9 miles, most of it very difficult going.
