Nepalis' grazing reserve; artefacts from the haunted bog |

To Cheswema, where I camped in the panikhets at the 8th mile. Water very scarce. Cheswema complained bitterly about the land taken up in 1916 to form a grazing reserve for Nepalies. They say they are short of land, which is probably true. Certainly they are poor - very poor for Angamis. |

To Kohima. At the 2nd mile there is a haunted bog now dug up for rice by which there used to be a stone mortar (broken up for bridges on the bridle path) and two stone pestles - taken away by men of Mao. |
