text: To Khonoma, going down the cart road to the Khonoma bridge and thence up the valley to the village by a path which was extremely inaccurately described as "indeed, a nice level path and no climbing in it at all", as a matter of fact there must be a rise of at least 2000 feet in four miles. All three clans came to meet me together - most unusual.
text: Outside the Semoma gate was a row of pointed cones of red earth on platform of the same. They represented breasts and were apparently intended to increase the fertility of the fields, opposite were tiny miniature morungs beautifully built and miniature stepped pyramids of clay.
