to Primi; a recipe for bravery in war |

18th. To Primi, about 10 miles, but tiring on account of the heat and the steep climb. At Primi I paid off the coolies and disposed of past three daks which reached me at Choemi and here. |

19th. Halted - Selected a site for a temporary inspection bungalow. Received some Silver Jubilee subscriptions. One of my servants went down with pneumonia and Mr. Bor with some violent intestinal trouble, doubtfully ascribed to drinking zu brewed from mouldy millet, the 18th having been very hot and the hospitality shown us lavish. A Sema gave me a recipe for acquiring bravery in war. You must take a head (ie. decapitate a human being) and put it in a stream and drink from below it. The bridges on both sides of Primi Inspection Bungalow are in safe. The muharer is reported to be ill in village. I did not see him. Obviously these bridges have not been repaired since the rains of 1934. |
