This village got burned last year. The morung posts, which are very rough and unfinished are carved with a buffalo head at the top, a dog at the bottom and in between the "enemy's teeth" pattern, here said to represent mithun horns which it quite obviously does not. I refused to appoint a gaonbura in Putho's place as the khel already has one and there were an unnecessary number before he died, and the clan wanted to appoint a soothsayer, which I consider undesirable as he is sure to detect thieves by magic which will end in some sort of trouble. |
