text: 8th Sept. To Thungje - 7 miles. 7.45 - 11.0. A miserable day of ceaseless rain. We arrived soaked and settled down in a damp 'basha'. Visited Hajaichak on the way. The land selected for their experimental terraces seems excellent. The jungle has already been cleared on part of it.
text: Thungje are very anxious to split up. It has been disallowed.
