'Englishman' arrived yesterday, contains extracts from my letter to Morill sent from Kezahkenomah. Tangal came with some Kamhow Kookies, their proper designation being Sukte. Tangal Major having the previous morning said the Raja had no objection to our erecting survey marks in the valley and having said the same (when called on by Col Thomson for a reply to the letter on the subject) before both that officer & Capt Butler, I sent off two parties one to Nongmiuching the other to Langol to put up poles. Ogle & myself went down in evening to Chinga mukka to look at the hills about & select some other points. It was unfortunately very cloudy & hazy so that we did not do much with the more distant points. |

The low tila of Chinga Mukka is of shaly sandstone with band of shaly blue clay, very friable, strike Northerly E, S by W, dip very high & the summit is [blank] feet above the surrounding plain. |
