Marched after writing a few letters. Passed through Nungyungchung about 10. Waited little for coolies and then went into Koio. Put up table there till the others came up then we went on to Seleku where I again put up. Went onto little stream and breakfasted. Thence onto Doiang whence we arrived about 3 p.m. and had a glorious bathe and afterwards shaded plane table till dark. |

At Nungyungchung noticed that the carvings on uprights in morung apparently represented same objects as elsewhere all over these hills, namely toucans and cows but very rough and without any of the skill elsewhere displayed. |
