text: 14th January, Saturday. Halted in order to enable Mr. Ogle to map out the sources of the Seejo and that portion of the water pent of the Burrail range which Dr. Brown was pleased last year to term "another range of hills, but distantly connected with the range". This days work completes the boundary so far and I trust the Government will now be in a position to judge for themselves how far I was correct in the description of the country I gave in my report and diary last year and I trust they will do me the favour to compare my rough hand and eye sketch (which was made under great difficulties) with the fair map now turned out by the Government Surveyor, when I think they will be surprised to find how correct my sketch is in its general features, and they may perhaps be equally surprised to discover how utterly incorrect is the description given by Dr. Brown of the same tract of country.
