26th October. Rain again all day, so stayed in and looked after the Carpenters. |

27th October. This last two days rain has done a lot of harm to my new earth work. Rode out to the Deopani and put up on a fresh batch of coolies to repair that portion of the road which had been carried away by the river. |

28th October. Feeling very seedy all day and having nearly smashed my big toe by a bit of heavy timber falling on to it, I stayed in and superintended the Carpenters. |
