1st January, 1872. Marched into Dimapur down again with fever. The attack came on about half way and I had to lay down for an hour under one of the bridges until the cold fit was over.

2nd January. Marched into Samaguting, I had another attack of fever. This afternoon head very bad indeed. Can't turn to office work just yet although there is lots of it to get through.
