10th February. Passing through Tengephemi (or Mukang Phimi) we encamped on the banks of the Barak below Maitaiphum. Our road was a capital one throughout but the distance rather long - something over 18 miles I should think. The valley of the Barak down which we came today is one vast rice field. Deer, partridge appear to abound here. |

llth February. Another long march today brought us into camp on the banks of the Koimani (one of the smaller feeders of the Barak) at a spot called by the Manipuries Majang Khang. The village is situated on a hill some little distance from camp. Our road today followed the river the whole way crossing and re-crossing it at every few hundred yards. |
