text: The year was uneventful, and no trans-frontier expedition was undertaken. The guard which was posted at Melomi in the cold weather of 1909-1910 was withdrawn. Our relations with the independent tribes on the borders of the district were friendly. Across the frontier raiding, head-taking and the burning of villages were as frequent as ever. No progress was made in the administration of the newly annexed tract of country to the east of the Dikhu, but sanction was given to the construction of a suspension bridge over the Dikhu river, and a road from Tamlu through the newly acquires territory into the Sibsagar district.
