Relations with the Nagas of the unadministered tract were good, and two headmen, who were responsible for an attack by the men of Anangba on the village of Kumishe, in which a British subject was killed, were imprisoned. In this attack 16 persons in all were killed and two girls were carried off and subsequently sacrificed.
text: Sixteen other head-hunting raids, mainly in the nature of vendettas and resulting in the death of 40 persons, were reported from the transfrontier villages.
