Colne Priory be it known to all men by these presents that I Rich Harlakenden esq lord of the said manor have given and granted and in and by these presents do give and grant liberty and licence unto Sam Brewer to fell or stub six bollings or pollingers of oak meet for timber to be employed upon the repairing the customary tenement of the said Sam holden of the manor of Earls Colne and also to fell or stub ten other young oaks that have been lately girt all which trees are now growing and being upon certain customary land called Debenhams holden of my said manor of Colne Priory by copy of court roll and the said trees so felled or stubbed to convert or employ to his own use at his pleasure provided always that all the said trees shall be so stubbed or felled before the feast of michaelmas coming after the date hereof and that these presents shall be enrolled for his sufficient warrant in this behalf or otherwise the same shall be void given under my hand and seal 13.5.1612
