whereas at a court here held
thursday being 4.11.1563
Jn Midleton
was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and the heirs of his body legitimately procreated to two pieces or parcels of land called

also to this court came the aforesaid

and in full and open court surrendered into the hands of the lord one of the said parcels of land called
Mellfield
containing by estimation 4a1r27p to the use and behoof of
Wm Midleton
his younger son and his heirs and assigns now to this court came also the aforesaid

and in full and open court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his aforesaid steward all the remainder of the said lands called
Mellfields
to the use and behoof of
Jn Midleton
his elder son and his heirs and assigns forever upon the condition however that the said
Jn Midleton
his heirs executors of assigns should pay or cause to be paid to the aforesaid
Jn Midleton
the father and his assigns annually during the whole term of the natural life of

the father himself the sum of 40s of good and legal english money at the four usual feasts or terms of the year viz at the feast of the nativity of st jn bapt the feast of michaelmas of xmas and the annunciation in equal parts and further that the said

the son should allow the said

the father and his assigns to have take and enjoy all the lops of the trees growing upon the said lands for burning in his hearth in or at his said dwelling house upon which to this court came the aforesaid

the son and sought for himself admittance thereof upon the aforesaid conditions to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward granted thereof seisin to have to the same said

the son his heirs and assigns upon the aforesaid condition to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents
and by all other services and customs thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine etc and made fealty and was admitted thereof tenant of the lord in the aforesaid form
