whereas at a court here held tuesday being 30.9.1606 Robt Leffingewell was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to one tenement and eleven crofts of land and a garden containing by estimation 23a2r more or less called Clarks as by copy of a roll of that court now brought here into this court it is clearly shown now at this court it is shown by the homage that out of this court and after the last court the aforesaid Robt Leffingewell surrendered the said tenement eleven crofts of land and the aforesaid garden into the hands of the lord by the hands of Robt Cobbe instead of the bailiff in the presence of Jn Churche Jas Pennocke and Jn Pierson customary tenants of the lord the same testifying according to the custom of this said manor to the use and behoof of Robt Church doctor of divinity his heirs and assigns forever who the same said Robt Churche present here in court sought from the lord admittance thereof to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward granted thereof seisin to have to the same said Robt Churche his heirs and assigns to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the said manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin     and made fealty to the lord and was admitted thereof tenant of the lor d
