whereas at a court here held saturday being 8.10.1608 Wm Harrington was admitted tenant of the lord for himself and his heirs to the remainder of and in three parcels of land and pasture called Harrowes lying and being in Maplested Magna or elsewhere in the county of Essex parcel of certain lands and tenements called Gurneys one head thereof abutting upon a lane leading from Hopwell towards Alderford Mill on one part and the other head thereof abutting upon a lane leading from Alderford Mill towards Maplested Magna and lying next to the land of Math Alliston on the other part when it should happen by and after the death of Ann Nicholson widow as by a roll of the same said court here in this full court it is shown now to this court came the aforesaid Wm Harrington in person and in full and open court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of his said steward his whole aforesaid remainder of and in two parcels of the said land and pastures containing by estimation 5a1r2p lying between the remainder of the said land called The Harrowe on the west and the land of Math Alliston on the east one head thereof abutting upon a lane leading from Hopwell towards Alderford Mill towards the north and the other head thereof abutting upon the land of the said Math Alliston towards the south to the use and behoof of Peter Alliston son of the said Math and the heirs of the said Peter forever who present in court sought admittance thereof for himself to whom the lord by his aforesaid steward granted thereof seisin to have to the same said Peter and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the manor by the rents and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine etc and made fealty to the lord and was admitted tenant thereof
