it is shown also by the homage that Edw Cooe customary tenant of this manor before this court and after the last court surrendered into the hands of the lord by the hands of Francis Witton instead of the bailiff in the presence of Wm Harrington and Peter Alliston two customary tenants the same testifying according to the custom of the aforesaid manor one cottage in Hedingham Castle and 1r of land lying between the croft called Brasiers Croft and a certain garden of the most noble Earl of Oxford to the use and behoof of Edw Brewer clerk his heirs and assigns forever to whom the same said Edw Brewer by Jn Parker his deputy the lord by his aforesaid steward granted and delivered thereof seisin by the rod to have to him and his heirs to hold from the lord by the rod at the will of the lord according to the custom of the aforesaid manor by the rents customs and services thereunto belonging and by right accustomed and he gave to the lord his fine as is shown in the margin and he was admitted thereof tenant etc but his fealty was respited
